Jacob Latimore credits his first appearance on “Maury” when he was only 11 years old as the moment he realized entertaining was for him: “I got a great response from the public. I just figured I could really do this for a long, long time,” says the young multi-talent.
Raised around music (his father and four uncles make up gospel quintet the Latimore Brothers), Latimore started recording R&B after that first “Maury” appearance. His first song, “Best Friend,” was featured on Radio Disney’s Incubator program highlighting young talent from around the country. Latimore recently wrapped the “#1 Girl” tour opening for Mindless Behavior, and continues to release singles while he works on his debut album with RCA Records.
He also started acting in commercials in 2008 and booked his first film role in last year’s “Vanishing on 7th Street” with Hayden Christensen and Thandie Newton. In the future, he’d like get more involved behind the scenes in music producing, insisting that he has his sights set on much more. “I definitely want to be one of the greatest entertainers who ever lived,” he says.
