The mother and grandmother (pictured, right) of a six-month-old baby who was mauled to death by an American pitbull have been jailed. The dog, named Bruiser, picked up Molly Mae Wotherspoon by her head and launched a "sustained attack" at her home in Daventry on October 3, 2014. The child suffered a catalogue of injuries including a fractured skull and bites to all four limbs, and died of blood loss.

A £60,000 reward's being offered by an elusive local web site company for information leading to the quashing of the murder conviction against Nick Rose.   The scaffolder from Ilfracombe was jailed for life after being found guilty of 16 year old Charlotte Pinkney's  murder by a majority verdict of 11 - 1 at Exeter Crown Court in February 2005. It was a year after Charlotte went missing. Despite extensive police searches her body has never been found.

In 2017, a military judge told attorneys in Bowe Bergdahl's court-martial case that he was impervious to pressure from then-President Donald Trump — but he made a crucial omission: one week earlier, the judge had applied for a new job in the Trump administration. That's the conclusion of U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton, who on Tuesday vacated the former soldier's court-martial conviction and sentence that were overseen by former military judge Jeffrey Nance.
